Training

The Office of Equity and Civil Rights (ECR) is responsible for ensuring UMBC’s compliance with state and federal training requirements.

ECR believes that offering merely the training that is required by law is insufficient. To that end, the Office of Equity and Civil Rights has developed and implemented a comprehensive training plan for all UMBC community members to ensure we are living up to our value of Inclusive Excellence.  Our training program includes sexual violence prevention as well as information on how to report instances of sexual violence and hate/bias to ECR. Mandatory training is assigned to all new employees upon hire and to all students and faculty/staff each year.

 

HOW TO:

 

UMBC employees should follow the guidance below to meet this year’s annual Title IX training requirement:

 

Student-Employees:

  1. Log in to the Vector Solutions student site (using your UMBC SSO).
  2. If you have not already done so, complete your Mandatory Annual Student Training (“RespectEdu Foundations for College” or “RespectEdu Foundations for Graduate Students”).
  3. Complete the course titled “UMBC Student-Employee Annual Title IX Training”.
    • If this course is not under “My Assignments”, you can locate it by selecting “Extra Training” on the left side of the Vector Solutions home screen and then using the search bar feature to search for the course by title.

Note: You do not need to download/upload any certificates of completion.

 

All other Employees:

  1. Log in to the Vector Solutions employee site (using your UMBC SSO).
  2. Complete the course titled “UMBC Employee Annual Title IX Training”.
    • Please note you must complete all components of this course for it to register as “Complete” in the system.
    • If this course is not under “My Assignments”, you can locate it by selecting “Extra Training” on the left side of the Vector Solutions home screen and then using the search bar feature to search for the course by title.

Note: You do not need to download/upload any certificates of completion.
