Sexual Coercion is trying to pressure someone to get them to participate or initiate a sexual activity that they do not want to participate in. Sexual coercion can be done through words or actions. Saying or doing something to someone to take away their ability to choose to participate or not is sexual coercion. Sexual coercion can look like manipulating someone, threatening someone, or blackmailing someone, and more. Examples of coercion include threatening to disclose another individuals’ private sexual information, or threatening to harm oneself if the other party does not engage in the sexual activity.
